    Puma Legend DR5305322

Legends are 90% tungsten.  This is one of the 22g versions.

The package includes 3 darts, 3 aluminum, anodised, medium shafts with 3 standard size Puma flights.  In addition, one receives a "dart case" and a card board backing that includes the rules to Cricket, 301 and 501, a checkout chart and a diagram concerning board setup.

These darts are 50.1mm long and have a width of 6.6mm.  I think the following is an interesting comparison to my Puma Kings.  The Kings are 18g and 97% tungsten.

The Legend is clearly larger but not by much.  It makes me realize that I loose games because I miss shots and not because my darts are not small enough and that 7% more tungsten is not necessarily worth paying for.

These legend darts feature a 15mm smooth slope to the point but still retain a cylindrical barrel.  They have a characteristic of a back loaded, long tapered point dart but one can still find a consistant grip no matter what shafts or flights are used.

The rings slope away from the point but offer a razor grip. These combined with the taper offer little resistance to standing darts and flights.  However, if an incoming dart does get into these rings then it will hang up.

The points are blackened chrome (oxidized?) and sharp.  They offer more grip in the board but not so much so as to be bad for the sisel.  Also, the sharp points may be less hard on the sisel but then may dig into wires.

Some pictures set up with short aluminum shafts and poly pear flights:

I like these darts alot and I think they are well thought out; good points, grip and barrel shape and a nice smooth taper. They are reasonably priced and in the US come with low shipping.

My only complaints are the case, a plastic coffin case and packaging.  I'd much rather a leather case and if one is going to include a checkout chart then make it readable, this chart is far too small to read.

A final picture, my first 180 I threw in my second game with them:

Is everyone seeing the pictures?  For me it is awkward to get back to the review from the photobucket page but at least I see the pics.  Erik said that they were not working.  How is it for everyone else?
