In my quest to get back into darting shape I'm finding I'm matching and then beating my old highs! I'm not as consistant as I was but my short runs are better then they were (if that makes sense)....for example in 100@20's today I hit the following

    1st 30 darts -- 36
    2nd 30 -- 55 Shocked
    3rd 30 -- 34
    Last 10 -- 11
    Total = 136 Smile

I knew I was right on the cusp as my darts were constantly landing around the T20 or in it until I hit the second stretch of 30 and then it just all came together with 7 and 9 marks coming like crazy! Sure I missed some singles here and there which is why i didn't score more but in the end the big 6,7 and 9 hits on the 20's took me to a new high Smile

I now know breaking 150 is more than possible but I also know I'll have to work at it.

Still 136 is now my best Smile

    I'll keep at it.

    Well I tried...

Threw a bunch of rounds last night and topped out at 132.
The pleasing part about it is I had multiple games of 120+, which isnt bad considering my best ever was 125 just a few months ago.

I'm in that position now looking through the scores of being really rather pleased with how many trips I'm hitting. But at the same time there are way too many rounds of 1, 2, 4, 6 for my liking. The supremely frustrating inability to put 3 darts in the 20 is doing my head in.

My score of 132 was made up of.

    1 round of 1
    11 rounds of 2
6 Rounds of 3 (including the 100th dart)
    5 Rounds of 4
    3 Rounds of 5
    2 Rounds of 6
    5 Rounds of 7
    1 Round of 9

That's 19 rounds of not putting 3 in the 20 bed.
But its also atleast 26 trips (not including any 3's that were just a trip) which is great for me.

Shot a 131 today with three 180's but had 10 opportunities to break into the 140's (times when I missed 1 or more darts at the 20's and the rest were singles).....

Makes me realize with a little work I should be in the 140-150 range!

I hear ya! In my 131 I just shot I can see....15 times I missed at least one dart all together. Sure I hit 80+ with the throw and I don't sweat those shots but it's the 1's and 2's that tick me off the most. I had 10 of those....I've I'd hit one more single in each of those throws I'd have scored 141....

Another 136 but this time with 49 the first 30, then a paltry 31 followed by a 46 and a 10 in the last 10 darts......that 31 ticketed me off! I was on a roll and dropped off and missed some key shots and struggled on the trip...one 9 mark in there would have been nice but I hit no 180's to get that 136 so there is hope yet! I can see a 150 coming though, just have to stick with it.

Although I haven't really thrown any darts over the last few weeks (thanks to work - no, I'm not complaining! Wink ), I did try a 100@20's a couple of weeks ago. Got all of 82... Switched to 100@19's and got 139. Heh... Razz

Well I caught up.. Hit 136 tonight, with no 180's, only three 7 marks, and only two 6 marks.

Actually, I'll probably stubbornly try to hit the 20's. Don't know which events I'll play in since work has been crazy (also the reason I have thrown hardly any darts in the last couple of months). Right now I plan on playing the Friday events then who knows! Rolling Eyes

Hopefully I can still hit the board! Laughing

I'm VERY close to breaking into the 140's and beyond. I can string together 30 darts in the 40-50+ range but seem to struggle doing it over 100 darts still.

Here's a run of 30 I videoed (playing with video lately)
    https://youtu.be/pIEtuAb4hmc

That's my 8th 180 for the day which may be my best yet but as you can see I'm not consistent enough yet! A little more work and I should be hitting 50+ (my best is 55 in 30) 20's in 30 darts, or 150+ in 100.

    I don't think I've ever thrown 8 180s in a day. 5-6 is about it. Nice darts!

I think 8 is my best because I can't remember shooting more in a day. Used to hit 5 or 6 consistently. But the funny thing is I'll one or two go right where I want them (maybe all three even) and then the others just go to hell LOL so I have some work there.

I can feel it though! I KNOW I can improve on it and I know in competition I can play better.

    6 180's now....

    43 - first 30
    35 - 2nd 30
    35 - 3rd 30
    12 - last ten
125 total -- I've hit 43 so many times in the last few weeks but each time I follow it with some crap....I can do better!

Looks like a carbon copy of the rounds I've been throwing the last couple of days. I did have one where I had 52 after the first 30, and crumbled spectacularly.

The good news is that only a couple of months ago my High was 126, now that's becoming pretty standard.

Another one didn't quite make it but darn well should!

Hit 44 in 1st 30, then tanked and hit a 31 followed with 42 in the next 30 and finish with 12 in the last ten for a 129. Ten more (which should bloody well not be so hard) in the middle section and it would be 139.....and the 100th dart that missed? Ya, could easily have broken 140 with this one...I can feel it.

    Another missed chance GRRRRR
    40
    32
39 (I really blew this one as I was on track to break 40 easily and missed a couple key shots to barely manage 39 and that included a 180!)
    17
    Total 128

Again, that middle 32 was the killer as just 10 more and...well you get the idea.

Though I don't track it the same way, I was 12 ahead of pace (4/round) after about 30 in that round I recently mentioned. That would be over 50 after 30 darts. Still managed to screw it up. I think it's a matter of consistency AND the pressure of knowing you're on a good round and don't want to screw it up.
