"English" Darts is a game / sport.

It can be played by an individual or multiple individuals.

It requires a specific dart board that is hung at a specific height.

The participant thorwn three (3) darts at the board from a specific distance to score.

    It is usually played indoors

It is usually played by individuals age ~ 10 to 100

Drugs of choice are not required to play the game.

Public locations are not required to play the game.

Trying to define Darts as a "bar game" reminds me of The Blind Men and the Elephant.

Step Back. Look at the whole picture. There is a great deal more to Darts than most can ever imagine.

Steel tip Darts and scratch Pool are both alive and well in private homes; break rooms in businesses; and nicer public venues the USA. They are just not doing so hot in bars where the patrons are too cheap to willingly pay for the use of the equipment and space unless they are required to shove quarters in a slot.

Never heard so much rubbish spouted ^^ Darts isn't an English game for starters ..Its a British game and Britain also consists of Scotland , N. Ireland, and Wales and also England ..Britain not England .

Some Americans need to learn that Britian has 4 nations ^

Anyhow again pubs or bars where alcoholic drink is consumed always
was where Brits all got involved in darts , also a board in the house for a little practice ..

Admit scout group halls or such likes would be a good thing for younger players to learn the game and enjoy and possibly could be a future champion if good enough ..Darts is a game for all levels though and should be about fun and enjoyment first and possibly for the odd few whom have it in them to make progress then more seriously .

But last but not least I had it in abundance as a young guy
never got the chances like todays kiddos, but say to each and every one of them stick in and with a touch of luck then you never know what can become. Youth tournaments are plentiful today weren't when I was a youth
and that sorty riles me today . But all in all darts should be firstly fun
no matter how good or not people are as said some are better than others
and thats just a part of life.
