It says "Franz?"
3:32 AM post, you and I keep the same time now Craig.
That is soo sad
Hey, but you know what SOUPR, it's good to have you and CB on the site lots--what am I saying?!? Craig's got like six-a-ma-thousand posts! But your added input--and CB's is always good--is great. Thanks for finding the Thorn Retort...
Hey partner, where are the pics from Saturday??!
You lucky buggers..................
Lucky for you my partner AJ, ran out of gas in the semi's.
Well truth be told , I was a little tired also
They're comin' CB! That was a blast--always such a great tournament. Big thanks to Rich and AJ, the staff, and others who put it together!
And you are dead right SOUPR--I totally agree, there was a good dose of luck for us on Saturday. Guys like you and CraigB don't need it as much as me to win one of our local special events. And I couldn't have gotten more luck on Saturday: great partner, I felt great and shot well, and teams like SOUPR's and Scott's and philk's just got nudged out of the path after fierce battles. Great great good fun. So I enjoyed things immensely--a little too much at times I'm afraid! :? 8) But, like I said, the Outdoor Shoot is always a really cool unique event, regardless of how you do, and as usual the people are the real pleasure. As usual, I was impressed by so many good shooters and new members; there were some nice pairs...
Anyway, pics comin' soon to a Thorn Report near you. Thanks guys. Always a pleasure to play together.
...next time I'm closing 17s..!!
cheers, and congrats.
You and Will were fantastic pk! Before the final I knew it was a bummer that one of our teams had to lose but boy, was it a war, especially game 2 where you guys pounded back from a big point deficit to tie it up! And all three games were neck-n-neck weren't they? And, I think both our teams did well to get past our opponents in the semi-finals too...
Next time, let's just hope we get paired together again!
It's always great to play darts with you philk...anyway, super job.
Wow! FINALLY your report started a new page! It got to the point that you opened the thread, went for coffee then came back and the last few pictures of 1,843 were almost done downloading.
I know, I know! That thought totally crossed my mind...well, maybe now is a good time to ask people for feedback...
How do you like the Thorn Report these days? Too many pics? Too much writing? Not enough of one or the other? Should i go back to reporting on the PADA league when it's going on? Or just stick with travel stories? Or try to keep it a mix of travel and dart experiences and occasional special events?
I'm really just curious what people think of it. Be honest, I can take it...
Now you can buy instant coffee for a few weeks CB...
Nothing wrong with the report except it looks like you had a few too many last Thursday! BLURRY!!!
Au contraire mon frere. It's all about respect for the players! I couldn't use a flash now could I? Guess I could re-up on a new camera, with better handheld and speed, but I love my little aqua-olympus so much. I've banged it, bumped it, dunked it, dropped it, sunk it...it still has 2gig for 2 hours of vid or 2000 pics. Thing rocks.
And who are you kidding CB--you know I can hold my brew. And shoot straight too!
But, in all seriousness, it is a bit tricky to shoot dart players; they shoot and move faster than you think--a tripod and higher speed/pixel camera would be ideal--it's hard to catch a dart scene shot without someone or someone's arm in a blur, especially, no-flash in the dark, but even in better light, like the Oregon Open or PM2, you still gotta go no flash, and still the clear shots are hard to grab...
You must need a better camera then. My little digital works just fine for "action" dart shots!
Either your math or your definition of what a "baker's dozen" is (13) needs to be worked on their Adam!
Sounds like you guys are sharpening up well though.
How embarrassing...and I'm so good at counting! Well, I got it up to 8-4 now, so we got a real dozen now. We got a little bet on who has more by month's end, so I gotta get on it! Maybe I'll use this thread to keep y'all posted...
Thanks for chiming in here again CB; knew I could count on ya!
So, here's a tidbit just in. My sis and hubby are north in BlackHorse land--apparently hanging out for lunch at the Lamplighter--a place I've heard of, so I think it must be in the Vancouver BC lexicon of steel...
So, bro-in-law emails me about dinner Sunday, I say blah blah blah have fun and oh, if you see a dart board, send a pic. Ten minutes later...
"We just happen to be in a pub" Here's my amazing sister doing the dart model thing...she's and her husband are the coolest...
So, 8-4, back to work, can't let Bonesy beat me...
8-5!!! Two today, only fourth time ever for me. Real baker's doz now CB!
Does anyone in your family have hair Adam???
8-6. One week to go...
Well, no flood of comments, like I was hoping for....
So, I'll just do it myself! 10-8! My lead!!! Bonesy's downstairs practicing with his band, and I threw 20's for an hour, and not only got the 180 contest lead, but shattered a personal best! See ya at the Elmwood Cafe!...
ok, here is a flood of comments..............your sister proves you must be adopted as she is far to cute to be a blood relative of yours, also you take far to long to hit 180s. practice more.................ok small stream no real flood here.
