So I'm Lazy

So I'm lazy, although I have some pretty good math skills I'm lazy about using them with steel tip darts so soft tips and electronic boards are my go to. I do have a bristle board set up in my shop and have made a set of darts for it and very much like using them and would like to concentrate on them more. So I have a question about the steel tip variety of electronic boards. Does anyone here own or played on them are they worth the money? Do they hold up I have seen a lot of pro's and con's about them. They are pretty expensive but if they would last 2-3 years of moderate to heavy use I would not be too unhappy about getting one. I'm not sure if you can buy replacement parts for them like say the board it's self. I may try to call a distributor and see what is available. Do any of you have a preference or know someone who has one i.e. what is the best brand I'm not interested in the online type. I'm kind of looking for any thoughts you may have.

I looked at them also I think. Is it GranBoard? I’d be interested in hearing about it. The eclipse pro board I’ve been using is starting to show signs of wear so I’ll be looking for a replacement sometime soon.

I really don't have any particular one in mind don't know about them other than the ads. Who sells the Granboard? maybe just a good app for a tablet would work just as well.

Ah nice! When I last looked I didn’t see anything like that from arachnid. That’s a cool setup and not much more expensive than similar sisal board setups. Hope we get to hear from someone who has used one.

Unfortunately I don't see many good reviews on them but some of the reviews sound like they were not really coming from dart players as such. I have an Arachnid soft tip board from 10+ years ago and it is still functioning like new. If there would be a way to get replacement parts like the sisal/bristle segments it may be a pretty good deal. I'm not sure about the webbing either as the plastic boards webbing is pretty thick and attributes to a lot of the bounce outs you get. I may just take a chance if you get it through Amazon if it's no good you can probably send it back if you do it in a few days or at least get a replacement.

I thought of it for linked play because there isn’t anywhere to get a game around me. I still love the sound of a steel tip dart in a sisal/bristle board. Always be a traditionalist I suppose. I still love the sound of a golf ball struck with a wooden driver too!
