Right now I am playing OK relative to my general standard, but feel that I am doing a lot of playing just badly enough to lose, and that a lot of games that are within my grasp are slipping away from me. My thoughts are to either put more focus on practicing my out shot combinations, but I have also considered taking a few days off as I have been playing a fair bit lately...
    Opinions?

Hard to say. It can often be mental more than anything. You have to BELIEVE you can win...but if that isn't the problem I'd take a couple days off (if you are younger, at my age it can actually hurt) and then practice your outshots more :) BH RTW and Bob's are both good for this as well as Catch 40
