Where did the practice game descriptions go? I remember it being pinned here, but can't find it now.

Hmmm...fond this on twitter. Will need to do some searching and am wondering if they were lost in a prune. If so I can go back through the old DB and find them I'm sure. Might take a while.

Turns out I made a JPG of all the rules years ago, and I just found it. Tried to upload it but I get an error that it's too big. It's only 1.1MB.

In the above post is a screen shot of the old rules. I will have to fix this ASAP!

Had to update my rankings today :( I realized that I’ve had a 32 on CCU for a long time cause I posted the wrong number there. Pains me to say I’m orange again! But orange is the new black I hear!

Hi all, a novice question from a new member and relatively new player. My son and I put up a Winmau blade5 in November and the darts bug bit me pretty hard. Several 1000 throws later and I'm starting to develop some consistency. My first triple bull yesterday and a few 120s so it's coming along.

One question re the practice rankings: do you recommend entering your best score for each game, or your latest, or typical score, or something in between. I get that it's a gauge for us to see our own progress but would welcome people's thoughts. Thanks.

Hey Rodney. Welcome to the site! I think most members go with their best thereby only raising the bar so to speak. I think as a new member that would be the best route and revisiting the idea of making them current a some point in the future. My palm is to update them every six months(for better or worse).

Thanks Van. Great site, great tools. Loading my PBs works for me. And pleased to say that makes me Yellow :) Not sure I'm going to land a score for Bob's 27 anytime soon, but I did make it further before hitting zero so that's something.

Good job! That’s where I was when I first posted numbers. That was with experience after a long layoff so IMO you’re doing quite well. Bobs27 is a tough nut to crack. You might allow yourself a bit of error to get closer to a score. Perhaps if you fall below zero give yourself one more turn at the next number to get back in the black. If not then start again. After all of you hit 3 d1s it only guarantees you 5 more turns in the game. That’s what makes it a great tool for improvement. My 3 faves are 27, BhRTW and Catch40.

      Thanks Van for pitching in!

As Van said, most put in their best and you will notice at the bottom you can see your previous scores too :D

      Welcome to the site!

I've decided darts is as infuriating as golf. There's always that one perfect shot that keeps you coming back.

For me it was a triple SB on the weekend. Then 4 throws with 2xSB in the same session. Of course, the next dart misses everything. Sigh

I went back to George's A1 drill that I was doing a month ago, and managed to finish it (20-13, excl bull) in one session. It took way too long, and many single-only hits, but I should be happy to close them all out. It's so frustrating, but I guess that's how we learn.

Ahhh yes...and some call that 'the bug' ;) but you are doing great for a new player!

Some call 3 bulls (singles) a hattrick (from the soft tip world) and we call 3 double bulls a 'Deadeye' :D

Rodney, Erik’s post reminds me to suggest checking out the darts terminology sections. Some pretty fun stuff to read and it’s nice to talk a good game as well as play one!
