For me and VanO at least I got the brass order yesterday and was supposed to get the tungsten 5/32 insert material today but tracking says it going to be late bummer. I started working with tungsten blanks the other day and have made a couple prototypes machines easier than expected but I'll probably have to tool up with carbide cutting tools to make it more user friendly.

Very cool! I certainly can’t wait to see the brass results as well as your work with the tungsten!

Don’t forget that the target diamond points are for you to keep the brass ones should go with the brass...I think

My god, I'd love to have a lathe. All the work I did with Jeff Pickup back in the day has given me the custom dart bug sumpin fierce.

A lathe is a slippery slope but really worth it there are many small hobby lathes on the market now that are within budget or at least sort of. Jump in the water is great.:D

In order to make 3 darts all exactly the same, don't you need a CNC Lathe?

Oh what a tangled web we weave. A good discussion is brewing here. Maybe there should be a thread on how perfect a dart needs to be? But to answer your question yes,no, maybe:rolleyes:

As my grandfather used to say “It’s all in the way you hold your tongue!” Nice job Kenny on your GT rendition!

EEA9CAF3-2167-4BF8-B7ED-AFD3F199C98C.jpeg Yesterday was truly exciting stuff for me(and Kenny). He sent me a message with the click and ship info a few days earlier but yesterday was the arrival. I don’t know that I could be more pleased! I’ve been tossing the mild steel prototypes pretty exclusively since he sent those. Some of the photos in the “hit any 180s thread were with those. The edition in brass with tungsten core brought a whole different dimension. I will share more possibly in an article about them and the process we went through to create them. I will also have more flattering photos of them too. This is what happened in about the first 15 darts out of the box!
P.S. Erik, did this do the trick?

This was a cool journey for me. I had no idea in my lifetime I would be making darts, it's especially rewarding that I was able to produce them for someone else too. The process went through a few iterations but with VanO's patience we finally came up with a working model. I'm sure my work doesn't compare to Mr. Pickup's (rip) but in time maybe.
