A little '3-in-a-bed' can be humbling

I was playing around today tossing a few darts while at work and decided to shoot a little '3-in-a-bed' which is one of my old cricket practices. Basically you must hit 3 darts in each cricket bed before continuing on. The object of course is to do so without missing a turn.

Gotta say the days of playing 28 are long gone! Seems I'm more likely to have to settle for 21 and hope to make that! Sheesh....but I digress.

Playing this little practice showed me just how far I am off the mark! Sure sometimes I'd shoot 2 or 3 rounds with all three landing in the intended target but then the 'twos' would start...and really get my goat!

I'll keep at it anyway ;)
    Cheers

I played a little of this yesterday and found it equally humbling. It’s a nice grouping exercise but jeez I found it hard. Then I did George’s A1 drill and it kicked my butt. Simple stuff can be hard sometimes. Gonna keep at it though.

Apparently, I've been playing this wrong... I've been using three different beds instead!

I remember playing it a bit differently in my younger years!:D

I used to do this and one addition was that a Triple counted as 3 or a double as two. You had to hit 3 marks before you could move on. So, for example, if you hit a T20 you could throw the next dart (s) at the 19. Your next throw you only needed to complete the 3 to move on. But as soon as you missed and did not hit 3 marks in the intended target that turn then you had to roll back one number. Like this:

    1st turn.
    T20 first dart
    S19, S19 2nd and 3rd dart

    next turn
S19 first dart to complete the 19
    S18, miss - 2nd and 3rd.

    3rd turn
    S18 miss miss

    4th
    Roll back to the 19
    T19, T18, S17

    5th
    S17, S17, miss
    6th
    Miss, S16, S16

    Roll back to the 17

    Make sense?
