In the evening before the take off to San Francisca the
family drove over to the airport in Toronto to pass the night there in a
hotel. The plane would start at five o’clock am – to stay over night near the
airport looked like the best chance to get at least a little bit of sleep.
Though probably none really slept… But at least one had the time to look around
and it would be easier in the morning. Steven was less nervous than the rest of
the family - by now he was full of gleeful anticipation. Everybody got about
around half past three in the morning, Steven said good bye and passed through
the customs around four o’clock and at five am the plane took off. It was
supposed to land in San Francisco five and an half hour later…The operative
world is“supposed” as the plane landed with some delay and only thanks to
Scotty who already waited for Steven and looked after the luggage the two made
it only just in time to the connecting flight to Shanghai. Rather upsetting for
the parents who followed the flight on computer – while the two in San
Francisco just had no time to get worried

The flight from San Francisco to Shanghai took 13 hours
and was rather uneventful luckily. Steven slept most of the time – not bad as
thanks to the time difference the plane did land in Shanghaion Monday morning
– the opening day of the summer camp. Steven and Scotty Burnett were the first
to arrive. The participants from New Zealandwere next.

After the opening buffet and the welcome speeches the
first practice sessions took place followed by a match youth players against
coaches which the youth players managed to win. Cricket was played as well and
Steven lost to a Chinese player.

The second day in the camp was a...
Winmau’s Simon Whitlock hit a 9 darter
in the Premier League semi-final last night as he beat Andy Hamilton to set up
a final with Phil Taylor. The amazing feat came in the second leg and Whitlock
said: "I'll never forget the 9 darter. I've thrown a couple of 9 darters
before in front of big crowds but not in front of 10,000 fans, so it was
special."

In the final against Taylor, Whitlock
fought back brilliantly from 7 – 2 down to level 7 - 7, but missed one dart to
lead 8 - 7. Taylor went on to claim a 10 - 7 victory and the £150,000 prize.

The Premier League final was played in
front of a packed O2 Arena in London, and it was a fitting finale to a
fantastic tournament.

Maciej Chorbinski from Poland is the proud winner of the Ted
Hankey shirt competition. Maciej is a huge Ted fan and was overwhelmed that his
design was chosen by "The Count" himself.

The winning design is pictured here and will be worn by Ted
in a televised tournament in the near future.

Ted said: "I was genuinely touched and impressed by the
sheer amount of designs that were sent in and I had a great time reviewing every one before choosing the winner. Maciej's artwork captured everything I was looking for, and it will perfectly compliment my current wardrobe!"

Maciej will receive a signed set of Ted Hankey darts, a
Blade 4 dartboard, a Ted Hankey Coffin Darts Case and 2 tickets to the final of the 2012 Winmau World Masters. As an extra special thank you, Ted has agreed to produce one extra shirt that will be sent to Maciej in recognition of his great
concept.

Winmau and Ted would like to say a huge thank you to
everyone who entered a design.
Winmau, the world’s leading darts brand, are delighted to announce the signing of Bobby “The King of Bling” George. Bobby is without doubt the most colorful, charismatic and entertaining player in the history of darts and he didn't even pick up a dart until he was 30 years of age!
he deal comes after a hugely successful and high-profile career for
Bobby totaling over 35 years as both a player and an ever-present BBC
commentator at the Lakeside World Championships (since 1999). Bobby is
twice a Lakeside (Embassy) World Championship finalist and he is a World
Darts Federation Europe Cup Winner, but his greatest achievement was
winning the News of the World Championship in 1979. This was one of the
hardest tournaments to win and Bobby did it in typical style – he is the
only player to have won this prestigious title without dropping a
single leg! He won the News of the World for the second time in 1986,
and Bobby has proudly represented his country 26 times.

Bobby is a
family man and a keen fisherman. He combines these 2 loves at his 18
bedroom mansion George Hall - he lives with his wife Marie and his 2
sons Robert and Richie (the latter being a great up and coming dart
player in his own right) and also has 3 fishing lakes on his property!

“This
is very exciting for us," said Ian Flack, Sales and Marketing Director
of Winmau. "Bobby is one of the most famous and instantly recognizable
darts players of all time. His unique style and image is known amongst
dart players and non-dart players alike, and he resonates with people
from all walks of life. We are developing a range of Bobby George darts
equipment, which will be available throughout our global distribution
channels."

Bobby added: "I am delighted to be re-joining Winmau.
'I was very much involved with the company many moons ago and it feels
like I’ve come home! I have always championed their reputation as the
finest...
Dart Trendsetters….

Puma Darts have just released the second
edition of their Shot! catalog and it features a heap of new dart barrel designs, weights,
finishes and accessories. As they have their own manufacturing facility in New
Zealand for both boards, darts and sales team all under one roof they have the
ability to trial and test new ideas continuously, not to mention their over 40
years of experience and knowledge of the industry. Time is devoted to sampling every week.“Darts has become an extremely fashionable
item these days and darts are continually evolving, and given it is a global
game we find there are quirks in design
requirements for some particular markets, so much so that we have just printed
our latest catalog and it is already
out of date with new ranges but we keep the website up to date.” says Peter
McCormick- Managing Director.

The new Shot! Grafix range is very
exciting- utilizing popular barrel designs in 80-90% tungsten this range is
coated for a high end fashion look. The darts are custom painted so much so
that no two are the same and along with new technology in fluid graphics they come
in a range of colors and coatings.

These darts are very decorative and the feel
is quite different to other coatings on the market. There is also a subsection of this range
where the darts are being air brush custom painted to give a brilliant result.

They are available in steel and soft tip.

Another example of these new hot of the
press lines are the new broad point
conversion tips- which is manufactured from stainless steel has a bulb end- design of this evolved from the old arrow
point, this point can take 3-5 times more vibration than a standard grip point.

The new exclusive flight designs are also
hitting the mark with their designer developing more in the range that are
distinctive and fresh and not to mention a New Zealand flavor.
